I just found a beautiful new place call "Shadow of the Giants"... Giant Sequoias that is. The trees are not as large as in Yosemite, Kings Canyon or Sequoia National Parks. But still a very beautiful sight. Below are a few scenes on the way there on a 2 lane paved road to a very, very narrow paved road then to a very narrow gravel road and then to a very narrow dirt road. My thought was where am I going and what am I doing here? But I am very glad that I stuck with it. What I found was amazing little jewel hidden away from the roads. I was surprised to find a few other cars and hikers up there also. I found some areas off the road that had been damaged by the forest fire that burned a large amount of forests this summer. Below a few pictures of the results of that fire. The rest is a very beautiful wooded area. This little bridge just made this trail one of my new favorite places. Enjoy the sights! Rp
